Privacy Policy

Balcony Waterproofing Sydney ("we", "us", "our") operates this site. We take your privacy seriously and comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), regardless of whether a small-business exemption would otherwise apply to us. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we use and disclose it, and your rights.
What we collect
When you use this site we may collect:
- Contact details you give us via the quote form or a phone call: name, phone number, suburb, and whatever you tell us about the job. If you email us we collect your email address and the content of your message.
- Call information, if you call the number on this site: the call is recorded, and the recording, call duration and caller number may be captured — see "Calls" below.
- Technical information, automatically, through the analytics tools this site uses (see "Cookies and analytics") — pages viewed, device type, approximate location, referral source. This does not identify you personally.
We do not ask for payment details, identity documents, or any of the sensitive information categories the Privacy Act defines. If you volunteer something we did not ask for, we do not use it for anything beyond passing on your enquiry.
Why we collect it
One purpose: to get your job quoted. to respond to your enquiry about balcony waterproofing, to arrange an inspection or quote, and to keep a record of the enquiry
The consent checkbox on the form is your consent to that transfer. You can decline it, but the form cannot be submitted without it, because passing your details on is the only thing the form does.
Who we pass it to
This site is operated by a marketing company. It is not yet matched with a provider, so an enquiry submitted through it is received and held by the operator of this site and is not passed to any third-party trade business. If and when the site is matched with a licensed local provider, this policy will be updated before any enquiry is passed on.
We do not sell your details for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask to join, and we do not pass them to anyone who is not involved in quoting or doing your job. We may also share de-identified, aggregated technical data with our analytics providers (see "Cookies and analytics") — that is not personal information.
Calls
Calls to (02) 9072 0403 may be recorded, and an automated notice tells you so when the call connects. Call recordings are hosted onshore in Australia by our call-tracking provider, WildJar Pty Ltd, retained for up to 12 months, and may be shared with the licensed provider your enquiry is referred to (see "Who we pass it to" above) as part of the service they are paying for. Recordings are used to pass your job details on accurately and to check we got them right. You may request erasure of a specific recording at any time — see "Seeing, correcting or deleting your details" below. If you would rather not be recorded, use the form or email instead.
How we store it
Enquiry details are held in Enquiries are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in access-controlled systems held by the operator of this site. with access limited to the people who need it to place your job. Enquiry data is stored on servers located in Australia. It is not disclosed to overseas recipients.
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. The service providers we use maintain their own security standards, which we have considered as part of choosing them.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics and Google Search Console to understand how visitors use the site. These tools use cookies and collect de-identified technical information; they do not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect how the site functions.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are retained for two years from the date they are submitted, then deleted.
Call recordings are a separate case, covered under "Calls" above: retained by WildJar for up to 12 months, or erased earlier on request.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your details
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to erase a specific call recording. Contact us on (02) 9072 0403 or at privacy@balconywaterproofingsydney.au and we will respond within a reasonable period. There is no charge for asking.
If your details have already gone to a provider, we will tell you who, so you can ask them directly as well.
If something goes wrong
If we become aware of unauthorised access to or loss of your information that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us first at privacy@balconywaterproofingsydney.au and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with how we respond, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle enquiries, we update this page and change the date at the top. We do not apply a new purpose retrospectively to details collected under the old one.
