How the entry point gets found

A flood test is the plainest method: dam the doorway, block the outlet, hold water on the slab and watch what happens below. Moisture mapping and thermal imaging narrow the search without opening anything up. Where the evidence still conflicts, a small targeted opening settles it, and that is a decision made deliberately rather than a demolition.

Timing matters here more than it does in a summer-storm climate. Sydney's rain peaks in March and June and troughs in September, so a balcony that stays dry through a September inspection may have been leaking steadily three months earlier.
